The Holiday Wish List 12/17/02

People often ask me where I think I will be in 10 years. My answer is, I hope to be among the idle rich, fraternizing with the bourgeoisie. Until then, here are some things to get me if you love me. And you know you do. Stop fronting.

-Less Republicans/Conservatives in office
-No war!
-An end to the deportation of Cambodians
-Universal health care
-A boba tea café/community gathering/performance space for Asian Americans
-Top spot as poetry hunk. Oh wait, I already got that.
-More interesting roles for Asian Americans in entertainment
-A sequel to 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon".
-A soccer jersey with the old southern Viet flag on it.
-Cream pies publicly thrown into the face of people who irritate me, i.e. conservative Asian American columnist Michelle Malkin
-Bruce Lee to return from the grave and break his foot off in the ass of these fake ass ninjas.
-A collabo between Jay-Z and Nas.
-A breakthrough Asian American novel that ISN'T written by an assimilationist
-An honorary degree in Asian American studies
-A television show about Asian Americans where the main character IS NOT a whiney sellout. It'd be nice to see a positive Asian American couple too, but that seems to be asking too much from our (predominantly white male) entertainment industry. RELATED FUN FACT: "According to the 1998 casting-data report of the Screen Actors Guild, one thing was true for Asian-Americans that was true for no other ethnic group: the female characters outnumbered the male." -Michelle Chihara
-A yellow cotton long sleeve shirt with three thin closely spaced red stripes in the middle
